A.J. Pollock (groin, quad) will resume his rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

He hasn't played since tweaking his quad on Monday. According to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com, the Diamondbacks are looking to get Pollock 10 at-bats before bringing him up to the big leagues. Barring another setback, Pollock should be back in Arizona by mid-week.

R.A. Dickey allowed just one run on five hits through seven innings to beat the Brewers 3-1 on Saturday.

He gave up a run in the first inning but then cruised the rest of the way. He whiffed six batters and issued one free pass in the drama-free outing. The veteran knuckle-baller eats a lot of innings for the Braves but doesn't offer a whole lot of fantasy value in mixed leagues. He improves to 6-5 with a 4.63 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 15 starts. He has a paltry 58 strikeouts in 91 1/3 innings.
Jun 24 - 8:59 PM

Jim Johnson struck out two batters in the ninth inning while earning a save against the Brewers on Saturday.

He allowed a single to Jesus Aguilar with two outs but was able to punch out rookie Lewis Brinson to sew up the save. Johnson has endured a couple of bad outings recently but didn't have much trouble this afternoon. He has 15 saves and a 3.86 ERA on the season.
Jun 24 - 8:52 PM

Brandon Phillips walloped a two-run homer to provide the winning margin against the Brewers on Saturday.

He took starter Matt Garza over the wall with a runner aboard in the third inning for his seventh longball of the season. The veteran second baseman has seen an uptick in his production in his first campaign with the Braves after many years in Cincinnati. He has a .306 batting average that would be the highest of his career if he can keep it up. He has scored 39 runs, driven in 28 and stolen seven bases in 67 games.
Jun 24 - 8:47 PM

Keon Broxton went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored during Saturday's loss to the Braves.

He singled to lead off the game, advanced to second on an infield single by Domingo Santana, stole third base and scored on a fielder's choice grounder. That was the only run his squad could manage in the ballgame. Broxton got off to a terrible start to the campaign and seemed destined for a bench role when top prospect Lewis Brinson was called to the majors, but his recent hot streak is likely going to enable him to keep his starting job when Ryan Braun comes off the disabled list soon. He has a .242 batting average with 12 home runs, 43 runs scored, 29 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 72 games.
Jun 24 - 8:43 PM

Kenta Maeda will start Tuesday against the Angels.

The Dodgers will move all of their starters back a day. Maeda has spent the better part of a month see-sawing between the bullpen and the starting rotation. The right-hander sports a mediocre 4.87 ERA in his 11 starts this year.
Jun 24 - 8:36 PM

Matt Garza took a loss despite turning in a quality start against the Braves on Saturday.

He gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings of work. He struck out four batters without issuing a base-on-balls. The big blow was a two-run blast by Brandon Phillips in the third inning. Garza falls to 3-4 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.28 WHIP after 11 starts. He will face the Marlins at home on Friday.
Jun 24 - 8:35 PM

Daniel Murphy drove in four runs and went 1-for-4 in a win over the Reds on Saturday.

Batting with the bases loaded in the second inning he doubled off of Homer Bailey to drive in three runs. He drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth frame. He is having another unbelievable season, slashing .343/.395/.580 with 13 home runs, 49 runs and 54 RBI.
Jun 24 - 8:31 PM

Trea Turner went 5-for-5 with two runs batted in and four runs scored as the Nationals thrashed the Reds on Saturday.

All five hits were singles and he also walked in the ballgame. His team amassed 19 hits and seven walks as they circled the bases all afternoon. The big day boosts Turner's slash line to .275/.312/.424 in 292 plate appearances. He has hit seven home runs, scored 49 times, driven in 32 runs and swiped 28 bags on the season.
Jun 24 - 8:26 PM

Michael Taylor went 4-for-5, belted two home runs, drove in three runs and scored four times as his team routed the Reds 18-3 on Saturday.

He delivered a week's worth of production in one day in this good, old-fashioned barn-burner of a ballgame. He singled and scored in the second inning, bashed a two-run dinger in the fourth inning, ripped a solo shot in the sixth, then doubled and scored in the eighth. He is batting .273/.306/.507 with 10 longballs, 32 runs and 28 RBI. He has stolen seven bases in nine tries.
Jun 24 - 8:20 PM

Joe Ross hurled seven innings of one-run baseball as his team won a laugher against the Reds on Saturday.

He gave up six hits and one walk, with the only damage coming on a solo homer by Patrick Kivlehan in the sixth inning. Ross struck out five batters and improved his record to 4-3 with a 5.40 ERA. He has a solid 52/12 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 56 2/3 innings spread over 10 starts.
Jun 24 - 8:11 PM

Jerad Eickhoff (back) will throw a bullpen session on Sunday.

The Phillies haven't given a timetable for Eickhoff's return but they should have a better idea of where he stands after Sunday's pen session. Eickhoff landed on the DL with an upper back strain earlier this week. Mark Leiter has taken his spot in the starting rotation.
Jun 24 - 8:06 PM

Patrick Kivlehan went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI while his club got whipped by the Nationals on Saturday.

He didn't start the game but came in to replace Joey Votto after the Reds fell behind by two touchdowns in the early going. He drilled a solo home run in the sixth inning. In the eighth frame he drove in a run with an infield single and then came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Eugenio Suarez. After being released multiple times over the winter, Kivlehan latched on with the Reds and has played well in limited opportunities. He has a .263 batting average with five home runs and 11 RBI in 76 at-bats.
Jun 24 - 8:06 PM

Scooter Gennett went 2-for-4 and scored a run in Saturday's lopsided loss to the Nationals.

He doubled and scored in the eighth inning long after the game's outcome was no longer in the slightest doubt. Gennett has been smoking the baseball this year and is getting everyday playing time while Zack Cozart is on the disabled list. He is batting .293/.333/.567 with 10 home runs and 38 RBI in 174 plate appearances.
Jun 24 - 8:00 PM

Homer Bailey was crushed to the tune of eight runs -- all earned -- in just 1 2/3 innings in a gruesome loss to the Nationals on Saturday.

He was making his first start of the season after finally recovering from elbow surgery. He gave up six base hits and three walks. Eight of those nine ducks on the pond came home to roost, leaving Bailey with a 43.20 ERA and 5.40 WHIP. Those numbers can only improve when he takes the mound against the Brewers next week.
